MAKE A STATEMENT WITH LIPSTICK ON YOUR BATHROOM MIRROR
What do you say to yourself when you look in the mirror? Do you recognise your extraordinary-ness every time you catch a glimpse of your gorgeous reflection?
I know I don't! More like noticing all the little (big) things that are 'wrong.' For me, the mean, silent self-talk became so automatic I didn't notice it consciously... until I would catch myself, eyes glued to the floor in the elevator. While my friends would be adjusting their hair and outfits.
I realised, I was avoiding mirrors, just to protect from the mean voice. She demanded better skin, hair, teeth, bigger eyes, slimmer cheeks, you name it, she asked for it!
Now, avoiding the elevator mirror might actually make logical sense - is there such a thing as an elevator with flattering light?! But beyond the elevator, that self-bashing attitude filters into all other areas of our lives.... how we women talk to ourselves as creators, partners, business women, mothers...
How different might you feel if every single time you went to the bathroom you were reminded of how extraordinary you really are?
Well, mirrors can be a soul-reaching tool! When we speak straight at our reflection, the message sinks in like no other book, article or conversation could.
This month's challenge is inspired by Marisa Peer who wrote a book called: I Am Enough: Mark Your Mirror and Change Your Life. She's inspired hundreds of women to write the words "I Am Enough" on their mirrors, just look up #markyourmirror on Instagram!
WHAT WILL YOU CHOOSE TO WRITE ON YOUR MIRROR?
Grab a lipstick, eyeliner or even a tube of acrylic paint and get scrawling!
As you can see, I went a step further with my mirror... I was thinking about the statement "I am enough" and realised IT'S NOT ENOUGH! Because we are way MORE than enough!
Every one of us is amazing, creative and capable! Time to own it, ladies.
